Actually Jesus is no stranger to me because my mother and many relatives believe in the Lord too. From young, I followed my mother to church. As I was still young, every time when I went to church, I would whine and want to go home or sleep. As I grew older, I hardly went to church with my mother anymore. I also became very proud. I only cared about what I liked to do and disregarded the feelings of others and the consequences of what I did. It was only after I left school that I realized how difficult it was to work in the society and to relate to others. It was when I turned 22 years old that I decided to work in Singapore. In January 2009, I came to Singapore. Before I came here, my family and uncle reminded me to go to church when I have the opportunity.

One day, in March 2010,Auntie Lee Wah went to my place of work to buy cakes. It was by accident that I knew that Auntie is a Christian. I told her I would like to go to church. One day, she arranged for me, together with her family, to go to church. I give thanks to the Lord for all these. I believe it was arranged by the Lord that led me to church and I learnt a lot in church. From that moment onwards, I confessed that I was a sinner and was willing to accept the Lord Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. At the same time, I am willing to become a person who obeys His word.

I had many bad habits and I have gradually put much of these bad habits away. After following the Lord, I realized I must be humble and have learnt to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. My greatest change was my temper. I also learnt to be contented and not to be arrogant. God, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105). This word is engraved in my heart and often reminds me that apart from God, I can do nothing.

I thank brothers and sisters in the Lord, especially Auntie Lee Wah and her family for their care for me. Also, I thank Pastor Andrew for teaching us diligently, for helping me understand the almightiness and love of Jesus that I may fear God and become a person who obeys His Word.
