Before I knew the Lord, I was a self-centred person. I had many complaints about my marriage and home. I often felt that I gave up a lot but received very little in return. I complained that fate had not been fair towards me: My parents divorced when I was still a little girl. I did not enjoy the warmth that a home brings and I myself also faced numerous problems in my marriage. I held a pessimistic view of life and felt that it was difficult to carry on with life.

Under the guidance of my good friends Xiao Fang and Yi En, I was very fortunate to know the Lord. Through them, I felt the love the Lord has towards me. I also saw how selfish and small I was. I decided to ask Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour. I confessed that I am a sinner and that the blood of Jesus cleanses me from all my sins.

Through the teaching of the Bible and the preaching of Pastor Tan, I began to be more optimistic and lively. I realised that there is so much wisdom in the Bible. It was as if I had entered a different world. I did not expect the change in my life, little as it is, to change also my husband. I finally understood that only God can help me in my marriage and give me a stable family. What I had given up for this marriage is worth it. I also learnt not to worry and that “each day had enough trouble of its own” (Matt 6:34). I learn how to let the Lord share my burden. Lord, it is You who healed me, this sinner and have caused me to see in me my sins. Now, each time when I face a difficulty, I will remind myself to submit to the Lord’s will and to praise God more. In conclusion, I thank the Lord for saving an insignificant me.
